Re: TSA Annual Meeting (Invitation to Attend – OPEN to all for the OPEN Session)
      Note:  See map at the bottom of this TSA News Flash for directions from The Post         to the VFW for the meeting.
 
The Table Shuffleboard Association (TSA) meeting is being held at the VFW Post, 8760 RR  2243, Leander, TX on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 5pm-7:30pm during the Texas Open 2007 tournament. To avoid conflict with any events, the meeting is scheduled on the warm-up day which does not have a formal warm-up draw until 8pm. On Thursday the scheduled events start (See: Texas Open 2007 flyer insert in the June 2007 newsletter or (Click Here) to download the flyer from the TSA website’s August & September 2007 “Upcoming Event Calendar”.
 
There will also be a Texas Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Tom & Lynda French during the Texas Open 2007 tournament on Saturday, September 1st at 12 Noon (come for ceremony & lunch).
 
NOTE: TSA OFFICERS & DIRECTORS: Please contact me and let me know if you are planning to attend. If not able to attend, please let me know who your designated PROXY will be. There is a planned TSA HOF nomination vote planned for the Closed Session. Packages will be sent to all Directors to review prior to this meeting.

OVERVIEW: The Table Shuffleboard Association (TSA) will hold an annual meeting on August 29, 2007 at The VFW, 8760 RR 2243, Leander, TX (north of The Post) at 5:00pm during the Texas Open Tournament (being held at The Post, Cedar Park, TX) Please email, mail, or fax me your “PROXY” designation if unable to attend. We hope to have a TSA Director quorum represented at this annual meeting, so if unable to attend please assign a “PROXY” to represent you and to cast your votes.

TSA NEWSLETTER NEWS & REMINDERS
 

THE NEXT TSA QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER IS SEPTEMBER 2007 (deadline for submissions is AUGUST 15th).  Do you have flyers, results, upcoming events, etc. to include in this upcoming issue?  If so, please ensure submissions and payments are received on/before August 15th.  Send all submissions to:  Lynda French at lpfrench@austin.rr.com and/or lynda@tableshuffleboard.org and/or download the TSA Member-Sponsor form and mail-in memberships, sponsorships, flyers, etc. (Download TSA MEMBER-SPONSOR MAIL-IN Form - Click Here)

ALL MEMBERS & SPONSORS PAID CURRENT FOR 2007 ON AUGUST 15TH will receive a copy of the September 2007 Issue of the Table Shuffleboard News
 
If SPONSORS have results, flyers (or any new sponsors that have not yet signed up), etc. that have not yet been submitted, please note that the deadline for receipt of newsletter content is August 15, 2007.

CALENDAR OF UPCOMING 2007 & 2008 EVENTS:  To ensure that your upcoming events for 2007 and 2008 are known and posted, please view the June 2007 Issue of the Table Shuffleboard News and/or the TSA Website's Upcoming Events for 2007/2008 at: http://www.tableshuffleboard.org/Latest_Calendar_2007.htm and check to ensure that your known upcoming events (and results) are already posted.  All events listed on the TSA website by August 15th will also be included in the September 2007 Issue of the printed newsletter.  The "Calendar of Events" in the printed newsletter and posted on the TSA website is free to all.  This is to help our TSA members and sponsors to schedule their events to give them the best potential attendance by avoiding surrounding known conflicts in their area before setting dates for new events.  
 
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:  Results submitted for posting on the TSA website are free to all and can be submitted anytime throughout the year.  Results submitted by paid current sponsors for publication in the Table Shuffleboard News are due on/before the 15th of the month before the monthly issue (example:  SEPTEMBER 2007 issue deadline is August 15th; DECEMBER 2007 issue deadline is November 15th).
 
PERSONALS:  If you have any well wishes for players who have been ill or had surgery, had any players in your area who have passed away, etc. please send any information you would like to share with others in the upcoming September 2007 printed newsletter and on the website, please submit by the August 15th deadline.  Some received thus far are:

Michael R. Roach (Bowers Rater & Long-time Player/Promoter) of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on July 16, 2007 (View Obit & Photos & Guestbook Link) Mike will be greatly missed and prayers go out to all his friends and family.
 
DeWayne Wilkins (Texas player) passed away last nite (phone call just received from Debbie Bowers).  DeWayne & his wife Anita were long-time players in the Austin, Dallas, Houston area for years, but have not been playing (health & relocation reasons) and are no longer in the ratings. They had also previously attended many major tournaments (NASC, SW Open, HHO, Board Talk Open, Champion Open, etc.).  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Anita and all of DeWayne & Anita's family.   More details on arrangements, etc. coming later.
