OBSERVATIONS & NOTES:

1)  This was one of our strongest fields ever, likely due to below average turn out in most of our events (especially low in the amateur ranking).  Very unusual for a "Florida Open".  We may consider event format changes for future tournaments.

2)  Jim Payne of Omaha, Nebraska took first place in three of the Florida Open events and he is, no doubt, the "real deal"!

3) Dave Shewbridge of Baltimore, Maryland took two first place wins! Dave is one of the top rated players on the east coast.

3) Jim Long of Indiana (aka "silver fox") was in the money in all four events!  He is one tough player and definitely deserving of his upcoming Table Shuffleboard Association (TSA) Hall of Fame induction ceremony coming up in May (click to view flyer).

We thank all for their participation, suggestions, and ideas.  Thanks to Bill Niswonger for his "board preparation" suggestions too for future tournaments.  We look forward each year to seeing all our  old friends and new friends, local and out-of-state guests, for both of our annual March "madness" events, being the "Cape Kennedy Blast Off" (March 17-20) and "Florida Open 2005" (March 24-27), both  held this year at the Moose Lodge #1962 in Mims, Florida.
