WASHINGTON PNW HOF & NEWSLETTER ANNOUNCEMENT

The Pacific Northwest Newsletter now has a special section on the website where players can view the Pacific Northwest News and upcoming events and tournament results.  This section is owned/submitted by:  Sharon Nugent, PNW Editor/Publisher.  Sharon just released Edition 3 of the PNW Shuffleboard Newsletter and has done a very professional job on her news.  You can click on the Pacific Northwest Shuffleboard Newsletter icon below to visit the newly created webpage (icon of trains below).  Please be sure to contribute your tournament information for the Pacific NW (including Washington, Oregon, Canada and surrounding areas) to Sharon Nugent.  She works jointly with the TSA & Bowers Corner Webmaster (Lynda French) to ensure all PNW News, Upcoming Events, Tournament Results, Special Announcements, etc. that are received by either or both parties (Sharon and/or Lynda) gets incorporated into both the website calendar of events and results, flyers, etc. and into the periodic PNW Newsletter publication.

The Memorial Service for Dino Mako's Family was this past weekend (you can read about it in Edition 3 of the above PNW Shuffleboard Newsletter link/page).

More PNW News... Art Eliff will be inducted into the PNW HOF during the upcoming Rural America Labor Day tournament and they wish to extend a special invitation both to their tournament and to joining in the celebration of Art Eliff's PNW HOF Induction Ceremony (revised flyer link below)

TSA HOF & TEXAS OPEN 2006 TOURNAMENT NEWS

The Table Shuffleboard Association (TSA) Directors & Members and Ronnie McMellon (Owner of  The Post, Cedar Park, Texas and Texas Open 2006 Tournament Host) would like to extend a special invitation to all players to join the competition and fun at this year's annual Texas Open 2006 (Labor Day Tournament) being hosted at The Post and to share the updated flyer and an invitation to attend not only the tournament, but to attend the TSA Hall of Fame (HOF) Induction Ceremony for Don Valk on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 1pm and the TSA Open Meeting being held Sunday, September 3, 2006 at 10am.  Players are already signing up from coast to coast (Maryland to Washington and Canada) to attend this year's tournament and celebrate the well deserved induction ceremony with Don Valk and attend the TSA Open Meeting (open to TSA members and non-members). More TSA NEWS: Dick Gorman of Delaware is being inducted into the TSA Hall of Fame as a "Promoter" later this year during the NASC 2006 Reno tournament. Details are currently being planned by the Petitioner (Dave Shewbridge of MD) and NASC 2006 Tournament Director (John McDermott).  Details of date/time of Dick Gorman's TSA HOF Induction Ceremony will be coming soon.  Tournament Details & Flyer below:

Both Don Valk and Dick Gorman are prior recipients of a number of awards, including the prestigious Sol Lipkin Award.  Don Valk started the US Open tournament (now known as Texas Open) many years ago, so having his induction ceremony during the Texas Open 2006 tournament will have sentiments for all to share and celebrate with Don on this special day.

INDIANA HOF NEWS

Debbie Voorhis and Mary Brown were inducted into the Indiana Hall of Fame (HOF) in June at GI's Tavern in Summitville, Indiana (Congrats Gals!).  You can read about the tournament and view their HOF booklet at:

• Joyce Gamble of OK is reported to be back home after a lengthy and serious hospital stay. Wishing Joyce a speedy recovery.
• Lynda French finally had her knee surgery on July 17th (from an injury in March) and is recovering well (even shuffling again!) and is back to reporting shuffleboard news!  She wishes to thank all who have been sending their "get well" support and a special thanks to Holly Kofod of Cedar Park for the beautiful Betty Boop room rug (a big surprise to stop by and visit and bring such a beautiful "Get Well" Betty Boop rug).
• The Williams' Family (David & Bobby Williams & Family)  would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to all the players and friends that have called, sent cards, flowers, emails with their condolences and support on the loss of their youngest brother.
