August is upon us and there have been many new results and/or
flyers posted (or updated) since the last issue. NOTE:
All persons who use swbell email services (eg, swbell,
sbcglobal.net, etc.) may not have received the last E-Newsletter
of July 26, 2006 due to Intellicontact News system problems
processing emails to those email servers (more than 60
subscribers did not receive the last e-news dated July 26, 2006
due to the Intellicontact email servers having errors sending to
persons using the swbell email routing). So, some of the
below info. is a repeat of the July 26th Issue (in hopes
that the Intellicontact email problems are now corrected).
At the bottom of this note you will find the latest Upcoming
Events which covers 2H2006 (July 2006 - December 2006 upcoming
events, flyers, and results that have been received) and a link
to view all "Tournament Results" by
month/year that we have received as of August 5, 2006. If
you notice any upcoming events or prior tournament results
missing from the website, please contact the TSA & Bowers

TSA HOF & TEXAS OPEN 2006
TOURNAMENT NEWS
The Table Shuffleboard Association (TSA) Directors &
Members and Ronnie McMellon (Owner of The Post, Cedar
Park, Texas and Texas Open 2006 Tournament Host) would like to
extend a special invitation to all players to join the
competition and fun at this year's annual Texas Open 2006 (Labor
Day Tournament) being hosted at The Post and to share the
updated flyer and an invitation to attend not only the
tournament, but to attend the TSA Hall of Fame (HOF) Induction
Ceremony for Don Valk on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 1pm and
the TSA Open Meeting being held Sunday, September 3, 2006 at
10am. Players are signing up from coast to coast
(Maryland to Washington and Canada) to attend this year's
tournament and celebrate the well deserved induction ceremony
with Don Valk and attend the TSA Open Meeting (open to TSA
members and non-members). Flyer includes tournament events, TSA
HOF Induction, and TSA meeting dates/times:

CALL FOR TESTIMONIALS FOR DON VALK'S TSA HOF INDUCTION
BOOKLET
(NEEDED BY AUGUST 11th - next Friday)
We are in
the final phase of finalizing the TSA HOF Booklet for Don Valk's
Induction Ceremony being held on September 2, 2006 and hope to
have the booklet ready to send to the printer by next Friday
(AUGUST 11, 2006). PLEASE SEND YOUR TESTIMONIALS
on/before August 11, 2006 to: lynda@tableshuffleboard.org
This is especially urgent for those not able to attend the
ceremony, to share your congratulations with Don Valk via
"Testimonials" to be included in the printed TSA HOF
Booklet. If you have any stories to share or would like to
give a personal testimonial during the ceremony (for those that
will be there) or for those not attending we can include your
"Testimonials" in the printed booklet and read them
(in your behalf) during the ceremony, please send info to Lynda
French, TSA Secretary at above email address.
If you have
any photos or other items to contribute to the TSA HOF ceremony
or booklet or would like to give a personal testimonial during
the ceremony, please let Lynda French know and/or send info at
your earliest convenience and on/before August 11th if at all
possible.

TSA: The TSA would also like to thank all those sending in
their TSA Renewals and for at least 12 recent new
memberships! Any new members that have not yet received
their TSA Membership card or established members that are not
certain about your renewal date (as you card may indicate a
month other than January since the renewals have been changed to
all members for January each year), please contact Don
Valk. We hope to see many of you at the TSA Meeting on
September 3, 2006 (detailed in above paragraphs & Texas Open
2006 flyer).
LAS VEGAS NEWS - 1st Annual Las Vegas
Open
Results of
the 1st Annual Las Vegas Open 2006 are starting to come
in. Players came in from surrrounding areas and as far as
Texas and Florida, etc. for this first annual event. All
reported to have a great time at this well run tournament.
We posted the preliminary tournament results a couple days
ago. Tournament Director, Jim Golden, has been home ill
since the tournament (typical for a hardworking tournament
director!) and will be sending a final report probably in the
next few days. So, bookmark this preliminary report and
check back later for final report and photos. View

The Pacific Northwest Newsletter now has a special section on
the website where players can view the Pacific Northwest News
and upcoming events and tournament results. This section
is owned/submitted by: Sharon Nugent, PNW
Editor/Publisher. Sharon just released Edition 3 of the
PNW Shuffleboard Newsletter and has done a very professional job
on her news. You can click on the Pacific Northwest
Shuffleboard Newsletter icon below to visit the newly created
webpage (icon of trains below). Please be sure to
contribute your tournament information for the Pacific NW
(including Washington, Oregon, Canada and surrounding areas) to
Sharon Nugent. She works jointly with the TSA & Bowers
Corner Webmaster (Lynda French) to ensure all PNW News, Upcoming
Events, Tournament Results, Special Announcements, etc. that are
received by either or both parties (Sharon and/or Lynda) gets
incorporated into both the website calendar of events and
results, flyers, etc. and into the periodic PNW Newsletter
publication.

and they wish to extend a special invitation both to their
tournament and to joining in the celebration of Art Eliff's PNW

TSA NEWS & UPCOMING NASC Reno Registration Info (repeat
of 7-26-06 News)
Dick Gorman of Delaware is being inducted into the TSA
Hall of Fame as a "Promoter" later this year
during the NASC 2006 Reno tournament. Details are currently
being planned by the Petitioner (Dave Shewbridge of MD) and NASC
2006 Tournament Director (John McDermott). Details of
date/time of Dick Gorman's TSA HOF Induction Ceremony will be

Both Don
Valk and Dick Gorman are prior recipients of a number of awards,
including the prestigious Sol Lipkin Award. Don Valk
started the US Open tournament (now known as Texas Open) many
years ago, so having his induction ceremony during the Texas
Open 2006 tournament will have sentiments for all to share and
celebrate with Don on this special day.

Hall of Fame (HOF) in June at GI's Tavern in Summitville,
